NCAA Girls

Finally, SSC-R has decided to join NCAA South Junior Girls' Division in basketball. This decision to join is a big surprise for all basketball fanatics.

As early as November, preparation has already been ongoing. Some of the second year and third year students tried out to gain a slot in the team. Of the quite number of participants only 12 were selected to form the team.

According to Mr. Jaime Punzalan, the head coach, it was the idea of Fr. Renie Villalino and Mr. Nestor Victa for SSC-R to send an entry for the said category if possible. But first, the team members must prove themselves worthy of competing.

As the team is concern, Mr. Punzalan said that they are already good in the execution of basic skills and as of now each of them is eager to learn and become better.

Another plan of our school is for high school students to join the cheering competition. It will be participated by upcoming Sophomores and Juniors of next school year. Last time, we sent college students for this competition and the outcome was not that good. But this year, much is expected of our cheering squad.

With all of these good things coming our way, NCAA South will be a big bang for the SSC-R Hawks.
