Baste Speech Choir conquers
division title

SSC-R’s quest in the division English speech choir competition bears gold at the Manuel Roxas Elementary School last Nov. 28, 2000.

With the theme “Book and Libraries in the New Millenium,” Mrs. Josefina Antig, the current district English supervisor, organized the program.

SSC-R got the 1st place in the competition followed by the 3rd year students from Jimel Academy. And in 3rd place was CNHS-Main (Cavite National High School) who are also third year students.

Participants of speech choir were so proud of winning this contest. Officers said that this was the first time they had joined in the English competition in division level and Sebastinians get it already at the top. Supposedly, the seniors should be the one who will join the contest but unfortunately Augustine who were mostly participant are scheduled to have a retreat that day.

Juniors were given the opportunity to join the contest with their conductor Jiezyl Mae Florendo, a fourth year student. The participants were namely: Jerica Liza Baculod, Rhea Anne Medrano, Stephanie Lim, Jeydee Dones, Mara Cordial, Arianne Mine, Avegail Armado, Noelle Notario, Koren Custodio, Ma. Majan Esteban, Aljhake Cabangon, Edward Encarnacion, Reiner Villavicencio, Roswald Padua, Roberto Ricasa, Alvin Hernandez, Mark Lorino and Michael Payongayong together with some 4th year students namely: Jennifer Morada, Tresheena Labayo, and Majelyn dela Cruz.

These participants were together with their assistant conductor, Paula Joy Pitiquen (third year student) and their drummer Rachel Reyes (fourth year student). Together with the presence of their teachers, Mrs. Daisy Camacho, the English adviser, Mrs. Maria Butil, a biology teacher and Ms. Nanette Fernandez, a professor in THE (Technology and Home Economics).
