A Tear

A girl got angry with her lover for she saw him with another girl. he said it was his cousin. The girl doubted but did forgive. He knew all along, but still he asked if she wanted to go to the dance with him. She said yes, but was so hesitant.

Prom night came and the girl waited for him for hours and hours and hours... she cried and grieved she thought his love he ceased to give. She was ready to fight for what's hers....to fight for love. She looked for him in every house, 'til she came upon his. His mother said he left a note, addressed to her. So she read it and it was like this:

Dearest,
Come upon our favorite spot, the seashore at dawn. i will wait for you...with love.

So she sped to their secret place, where they meet to talk, and there as she looked beyond the horizon, as the sun rises from the sea, she saw a figure in a boat approaching tenderly.

It took her a while to realize that it was her love in the boat, and when he finally got to her, she was consumed not with anger but with the feeling of betrayal. She asked why didn't he come. Was her love not enough? Does his heart belong to another now? Did their love just evaporate?

He smiled and said:

"I went far beyond the sea."
"Why?" she asked
"I dropped a tear in the ocean."
"For what?"
"So that I can prove that my love for you is true."
"But how?"
"I dropped a tear in the ocean and when time comes that someone finds it, that's when I'll stop loving you..."
