Trivia: Did you know?

  • Fear is not a laughing matter. A news account told of an elderly man whose home was mistakenly broken into by drug enforcement officers. The man was so frightened that he suffered a heart attack. Fear can kill, cause emotional stress, and jeopardize.

  • A pound of feather is heavier than a pound of gold . . . It is because there are two systems for measuring weight. One is the Avoirdupois pound, which contains 16 ounces. The other is the troy weight pound, containing 12 ounces. Feathers, and most other large and coarse commodities are measured by the avoirdupois system. Gold and other precious metals and stones are measured by the troy system. Thus, a pound of feather actually weighs four-ounce more than a pound of gold.
